Overview

The Item Settings section in the Inventory module allows administrators to set default values and behaviors for adding new items. By configuring these settings, businesses can maintain consistent pricing, efficient product labeling, and accurate inventory tracking.

2. Price Rounding Options

a. Fractional Portion (Number of Digits Rounded)

– Rounds the price to the chosen decimal place.

Example:

– Fractional portion = 2

– Selling price = $155.747

– Final price = $155.75

b. Integer Portion (Number of Digits Rounded)

– Rounds the price to the nearest integer.

Example:

– Integer portion = 1

– Selling price = $154.59

– Final price = $160

Useful for creating cleaner price tags and standardizing price formats.

This setting determines what details appear on printed product barcodes.

Display a short description below the printed barcode

– Shows the first 30 characters of the item’s brief description.

Display price when printing barcode

– Shows the selling price on the barcode.

Note

Enable both options for better visibility during sales and stock management.

4. Product Search Threshold

Controls the display behavior of the item selection list:

If number of items > X → A search box will be shown. Users must type to find products.

If number of items < X → All items are shown in a drop-down list.

Example:

– Threshold (X) = 50

– If inventory = 75 items → search required.

– If inventory = 30 items → list shown by default.

5. Update Inventory Attribute

Option: Do not update inventory numbers

– Clicking Update will uncheck this attribute for all products.
