Sales Module – Creating New Items

The Items feature in the Sales Module of BizCore allows you to define and manage products or services offered to customers. By creating items, you can standardize descriptions, rates, tax configurations, and classifications for use across quotations, invoices, credit notes, and other sales transactions.

This article explains how to create a new item in BizCore, including required fields, tax settings, and classification codes.


Accessing Items

To create or manage items:

1. From the Main Dashboard, click Sales in the sidebar menu.

2. Select Items.

3. The system will display a list of all existing items.

4. Click + Create New Item to add a new product or service.


Creating a New Item

When you click + Create New Item, you will be taken to the item creation form. Fill in the following fields:

Item Details

Field Description
Description (*) Enter a short, clear item name (e.g., Website Development Service, Product A). This will be displayed on sales documents.
Long Description Provide additional details about the item. This can include specifications, features, or special terms.
Rate – MYR (Base Currency) (*) Set the base price of the item in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR). This will be used as the default rate when the item is added to quotations, invoices, etc.

Tax Settings

Field Description
Tax 1 Select the applicable primary tax rate for this item.
Tax 2 (Optional) Add a secondary tax rate if required.

Additional Item Information

Field Description
Unit Define the unit of measurement (e.g., pcs, hours, kg).
Item Group Assign the item to a group for easier organization and reporting (e.g., Services, Products, Subscriptions).
Item Classification Code Provide a classification code if required for compliance or reporting purposes.
Tax Type Code Select the applicable tax type code for this item:

01 – Sales Tax
02 – Service Tax
03 – Tourism Tax
04 – High-Value Goods Tax
05 – Sales Tax on Low Value Goods
06 – Not Applicable
E – Tax exemption (where applicable)


Saving the Item

1. Review all entered details to ensure accuracy.

2. Once complete, click Save.

The new item will now appear in the Items List under the Sales Module and can be selected when creating quotations, invoices, or credit notes.
